1. Accepting these terms
When you send us a document, you accept these terms. You can read them in full at proofread24.com/terms, or ask for a copy at info@proofread24.com.
2. What we do
Our team is experienced postgrads. We work on language and form only. We never write content for you.
- Proofread: R0.20 per word (minimum R1,600, maximum R16,000). You get a clean corrected document, a tracked-changes document, a change log, and a certificate with QR verification. We check citation and format consistency as part of a Proofread. We use the style you name, or infer it from your document and say so in the quote.
- Review: R0.10 per word (minimum R800, maximum R8,000). Comments only. We do not change your text.
3. Quotes
We give you a free sample and a quote. The quote is valid for 5 days, and any email from you extends it. A quote lapses after 14 days.
4. Payment
Pay by EFT to our Bank Zero account. Use your ticket code as the deposit reference. Without the code we can't match your payment, so the clock can't start. This is a delay, not a penalty. We release your work only once your deposit is confirmed.
5. Turnaround
We deliver within 24 hours of confirmed payment (not from your first email). If we are late, you get 50% off.
6. Refunds
We refund 100% of the fee if your university rejects the work specifically for proofreading quality. You need a written, verifiable rejection, and you must claim within 60 days of delivery. Refunds are capped at the fee you paid. We do not refund rejections for content, plagiarism or ethics.
7. Privacy and your files
- We never share your document.
- Your document is not used to train anyone's models.
- We delete your documents (original, clean and tracked) 14 days after delivery. After that we can't replace files.
- We delete emails and working files after 30 days.
- We keep a minimal certificate record for 2 years, so the QR verification at proofread24.com/verify keeps working. It holds only the ticket, client name, document title, date and word count. It holds no documents.
- We keep a basic client record for repeat business. Job statistics are anonymised after 30 days.
- Certificates are not re-issued.
8. Academic integrity
You confirm the work is your own. We do not take part in contract cheating.
9. Copyright and your declaration
Copyright stays with you, the author. Our certificate is designed to make your university's declaration of language editing easy.
